Dana Sands, Energy Infrastructure Partners


Ms. Sands has spent her career in the infrastructure and renewable energy industries. Most recently, she was CFO and Director of Origination for Alinda Capital Partners, one of the world’s largest energy and infrastructure private equity funds. Prior to that she was COO of Evolution Markets, a renewable energy finance firm. She also covered the power industry at Morgan Stanley and public infrastructure finance at both Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.

While serving in the role of Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Sands was a part of the transaction team for fund investments. As CFO, Ms. Sands participated as a non-voting member of the Investment Committee, and was required to approve all investments, from an investment process perspective. During the investment process she participated in the financial due diligence process, reviewed transaction documents and ensured Alinda’s investment criteria and due diligence procedures were strictly adhered to. Working with third party tax advisors and other Alinda employees, she also helped structure the investments and implemented hold-co / blocker strategies. Finally, Ms. Sands oversaw the capital calls and fund bank loans. While at Alinda, Ms. Sands also had origination and execution responsibilities. She was the fund’s senior officer focused on leveraging her network to source suitable investments for the fund

Ms. Sands also worked in the municipal utilities group for more than ten years at Morgan Stanley and at Lehman Brothers. Among her transactions while there were water and wastewater financings for Hamilton Ohio, Findlay Ohio and Los Angeles Water and Power. She was also financial advisor for five years to Santee Cooper, one of the South’s largest municipal utilities.

Ms Sands, a CPA, received two graduate degrees from the New York University Stern School of Business and a BA from Yale University.
