Cathleen Ellsworth is a Managing Director at BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, in the Real Assets Group, focused on the Energy & Power Infrastructure Funds. With over $30billion assets under management and 300 professionals in 23 offices worldwide, BlackRock Real Assets seeks to help investors identify and effectively execute real asset investment strategies across the income and growth spectrum in both equity and debt markets. Cathleen’s responsibilities at BlackRock include marketing, investor relations and communications, co-investment and fundraising related to the Energy Infrastructure Funds that were acquired by BlackRock from First Reserve in June, 2017. Prior to joining BlackRock, Cathleen spent 27 years at First Reserve in Greenwich, Connecticut, most recently as a Partner, Managing Director and the Firm’s Chief Marketing Office. First Reserve is a premier global energy-focused private equity investment firm with over $31bn of aggregate capital since its inception in 1983. Cathleen joined First Reserve in 1990 and had broad responsibilities for First Reserve’s fund raising, co-investment, investor relations and communications activities throughout much of her time at First Reserve. Cathleen began her career at Chemical Bank primarily working in the marketing area of the Chemical Investment Group and its related entities. After eight years with Chemical Bank, she joined MacKay-Shields Financial Corporation as an executive in the marketing group. Cathleen holds an A.A. from Bradford College, a B.S. from the State University of New York at Binghamton and an M.B.A. from Fordham University.
